How long does it take to edit a video?

Five things set the schedule:

1. Footage volume. Every hour of raw recording has to be watched before it can be cut, so a long interview takes more time than a tight, scripted shoot.
2. Finished length. A 30-second Reel carries one idea; a 20-minute video needs structure, pacing and B-roll in every section.
3. Designed elements. Captions and a colour pass add a little; kinetic type, animated callouts and 3D add much more, because they are designed and animated from scratch.
4. Versions. Each extra aspect ratio, cut-down or hook variant is another pass through the edit.
5. Feedback speed. Every day spent waiting for notes is a day added to delivery.

Every RaRe Frames edit follows four stages: footage and a short brief, a rough cut so you can approve the story, then motion, captions, music, sound and colour, and finally every format delivered ready to post. The rough cut is where you save the most time, because changing the story is quick before the polish and slow after it.
